Dancing with the flow of Life: Aging at the home care (An IBMI-NGO Christmas Reach out)
December 14, 2025
To aging parents, there is nothing sweeter than aging gracefully with your loved ones in your own home at your own pace. This is an ideal scenario every parent wants.
But to those who never had a choice nor given the chance to decide, aging at home care is the only option left for survival.
Nevertheless, everybody hopes and prays that eventually they will learn to dance with the flow of life. After all, this is the most vivid reality. For them. For now.
What getting old feels like
On December 16, after our Reach out at the Tahanan ng Pagmamahal, an orphanage in Pasig City, IBMI-NGO, BMUI and One Sky Foundation went straight to God’s Grace Home Care Center in Quezon City.
The 3-storey with 40 rooms facility in-houses 78 elderly. Each of them has assigned one caregiver to take care of them.
Standing before the elderly, we can sense different emotions that fill the room. And as the program progresses, we are glad to see their smiles. Maybe this is what getting old feels like.
On the other hand Ben BITAG, IBMI-NGO advocate and volunteer has expressed his heartfelt message and respect to the senior citizens. He also relates his experiences taking care of his Mom before she passed away.
Each of the lolo and lola were given hygiene kits from One Sky Foundation. IBMI-NGO also handed over to the caregivers the breads and meal packs to feed the elderly. There were also 50 sacks of 50-kg rice endorsed to the home care.
What getting old feels like
As we listened and interacted with the elderly, each of them had a story to tell. At the end of the day one thing is certain: they are loved and well-taken cared for.
